Job specification: Planning and Estimating IT Clerk

Location: Bristol

Primary Purpose of Role:

 

To assist the estimating team in producing floor designs for our commercial flooring division. The main function will be working on a computer based program called Callidus where the supplied floor plans are measured and product allocated. Callidus is used to radically reduce estimating, planning and installation costs within our commercial flooring department. The person will be part of a small business development team that is driven on targets.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure that the Calladus measurements are completed and accurate
  • Attend weekly sales meetings on progress
  • Liaise with internal customers to ensure tight time scales are hit
  • Your own health and safety
  • Operate at all times in accordance with health and safety at work legislation
  • Provide extracts, floor laying designs and hand over packs to the operational team.
  • Assist the business development team with daily office duties
Person Specification / Professional Skills / Experience:

 

  • A good IT knowledge is essential
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience of CAD based systems would be an advantage
  • A good attention to detail
  • Accepts and stimulates change within the working environment
  • Clean driving licence

Primary Purpose of Role:

 

To be able to fit all flooring types including Vinyl-Safety Flooring, Marmoleum, Rubber, Commercial Carpet, Soft and Hardwood Flooring, Acoustic, Sports Halls, Resin. Liaising with the client in order to complete flooring contract in line with customer requirements and on time. The job will also include the control of your work quality, health and safety, deliveries to site and stock control.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Management of a specific site
  • Attend on going progress meetings
  • Liaise with Client to deliver work packages to agreed time-scales
  • Control quality of works, health and safety, material deliveries and onsite stock control
  • Ensure good customer relationship are maintained to ensure we meet the contract expectations
  • Work with the project management teams to develop appropriate solutions to meet customer needs
  • Project a professional and competent image of Avonline at all times
  • Operate at all times in accordance with health and safety at work legislation
  • Understand the specific contract specification to ensure compliance and control of extras.

Flooring Contract Site Manager

Job specification: Flooring Contract Site Manager

Location: Southwest / Southeast

Primary Purpose of Role:

 

To project manage all onsite activities, liaising with the client in order to complete flooring contract in line with customer requirements and to budget. Manage onsite resources to ensure delivery to timescales, work quality, health and safety, deliveries to site. Developing relationships and creating forward opportunities with onsite Quantity surveyors and contract managers.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Management of  specific flooring projects nationally, as agreed with Flooring Manager
  • Attend Pre-contract award meetings
  • Liaise with Client to deliver work packages to agreed time-scales
  • Manage resources onsite to ensure highest quality of workmanship is maintained and to ensure works are in line with agreed work packages
  • Project control and reporting;  measurement of works, attend site meetings, quality of works, health and safety of works, resource requirements, contract resource wages, reporting daily/weekly of progress internally and to client, seek agreements to variation orders onsite, attend pre let meetings
  • Supplier ordering and delivery in line with contract timeline• Ensure good customer relationship management processes and information management practices are in place with each client
  • Work with the engineering installation and project management teams to develop appropriate solutions to meet customer needs
  • Project a professional and competent image of Avonline at all times
  • Operate at all times in accordance with health and safety at work legislation
